Jeremy

I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this, but I'm involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. My little brother's name is Jeremy and he just turned 13. We do stuff together about every week; once a week I eat lunch with him at school and then we usually do something fun on the weekend, such as sledding, hiking, exploring the farm at Grammy's, shopping going to BBBS events, etc. This past weekend we went bowling at Valley Lanes and had a great time. He beat me the third game..."Um, I think it's time to go." :)...j/k.

I was talking with Rebekah on skype yesterday and she wanted to see some pics of him. I think that first one he took on the way to the bowling alley is pretty hilarious. The car interior you see is Grandma's; my car decided to break down last week and is in the process of getting an extremely costly fix. The other pic is him celebrating after beating me (the screen had our scores on it until a second before I took the picture. grrr).

We are both excited about being in a soapbox derby in May.

Candice, I think I've changed it now so you can post anonymously and not have to sign in.

Philip's Snowman

Yesterday we got a surpise snowstorm. So, today I started off my Saturday right by going out and making a snowman. He's a self-portrait of sorts. You might say, "Why no arms?" I'll say "I didn't want anything to distract from the beard." hehe. ...Or maybe it was just too hard to find sticks and stab them into his chest cavity; the idea seems somewhat barbaric, doesn't it? Actually that just now came to me, but I'm even more happy I didn't give him arms now! :). I hope he brightens your day. Have a great weekend everyone!

The Volleyball Champ and The Actor

Can you guess which is which? Big news from this weekend: Diech went out to Rosedale for the all-night volleyball tourney and his team basically tore up the competition, from what I hear. Lot's of fun!

This Wednesday, I'm going to be in a play written by one of my best friends at Bridgewater College. I've been spending a lot of time over these past several weeks learning my lines and going to practices, so I'm excited about the big event. I've been inviting everybody. :).

Both of us have been listening to Andrew Peterson's Cd, Love and Thunder, and it is quickly becoming a new favorite.

And finally, Micah and Krista are engaged to be married! He proposed on Friday, and the wedding will be sometime this summer. Dietrich and I will be in his wedding party. This is very good news because we like Krista and Micah a lot and think they will be an awesome married couple; this is bad news because it means that--unless they consent to living upstairs in our old house--we'll be short a housemate.

Well, we are trying to sign on - we shall see what happens from here. Might be lots of craziness from our side
